the rooms are really stunning...spacious, bright and made to comfort. I'd even give 6 stars to the rooms, as everything is very stylish in a classic non-poshy way. it was a joy waking up there every morning. I did not have a meal plan, but remember other guests appreciating the food. the road is very close by, so I could hear the traffic. the in-house team is very friendly and helpful.

We are currently staying here with my family of 5. We have the 3 bedroom villa with private pool and it is absolutely amazing. We arrived late and the staff knew we were tired and greeted us with a lovely fresh cold fruit drinks. They had a special dinner that night and waited for us to arrive to begin. They had special Balinese dancers and what an opening night to our first ever trip to Bali. Our bathrooms are just stunning and beds very comfortable. They have gone above and beyond to make our stay just beautiful and so so special. We love this place and can’t wait to return. Do yourselves a favour and stay here it is just beautiful. Thank you for looking after me and my family. Love the Roberts Family. 😘😘😘😘😘

Hospitality from staff not up to expectations from a major tourist location. Location is far from Ubud centre - road leading to the market place has heavy traffic during day and night. Rooms are far from reception and pathways through the jungle like vegetation are poorly lit at night and are slippery. Limited choice for breakfast. Rooms are spacious. There is no screen/curtain/barrier between the room and the bathroom/WC. Overall - can be avoided. Many other options at this price.

Let’s start with the pros: - spacious villas/ living area - air-con (bedroom only) - bed relatively comfortable - housekeeping (fresh towels, turn town service) The cons: - Not as pictured: no outdoor lounge furniture or water dispenser (we complained and they provide on day 2), no mosquito nets - Not as on listed website: free shuttle service is only twice daily, and return service is for a fee, no included airport transfer, Mentioned these items to management and was ignored. - 30 mins welcome massage was actually only 15 mins, and offered by an unhappy looking masseuse on the second last day (we never asked about it) - noisy bar fridge in bedrooms needed to be unplugged, and website listed mini bar as included (when asked, management stated this was what the fridge was) - no privacy or security - other guests or the general public could easily access our outdoor space/ pool from public area. - nowhere comfortable to sit in the living room. Lounge is hard and not enough pillows. - area surrounding pool needed cleaning - the whole place feels in need of upgrades - shared pool was not operational for 3 days (“needed a treatment”) - included breakfast selection was small, and only adequate Location: - shared pool/ bar area faces a big concrete wall and road. - surrounded by roads so very noisy - no footpaths so walking anywhere was an extreme sport

Super friendly staff. Rooms are wow with a jungle view. In our room, there was no real separation between the room and the toilet.

Stayed at Luwak Estate for 1 week, the staff made this place 5+ stars. Arya and Dody were the best hosts, they took care of us right from check-in. From catered complimentary breakfast service, poolside drinks/food, to booking and chaperoning excursions, they were unbelievable!!! Nicest staff ever, so kind! The food was really good as well, the Indonesian rendung and chicken sate were amazing, hats off to the awesome chef. Our villa was nice, could use a refresh but very spacious and clean. Location is a bit away from the city centre, but the staff here were super helpful in driving us and pick us up. It’s also important to mention Sita, her massages are really good, highly recommend you book with her if you stay here. Thanks Luwak Staff for an awesome stay, you made us feel at home!

Do not stay here! I booked a packege online directly from their website, family of 6, parents & 4 young adult children, even had correspondance via whatsapp regarding the inclusions I booked. Once we arrived they said I did not book a package, only room with breakfast & 1 way airport transfer. I showed the list of inclusions I had from their website & the whatsapp conversation regarding our inclusions but still we were not honoured our package. The manager then bugged us every time we walked past trying to sell us the things that were in our package. After 3 days of discussion we were finally given part of our package which the manager made out was a "gift" from him to us. On day 4 they tried to charge us for the inclusion they "gifted" us the day before. By this stage we were very unhappy with quite a bit. Main pool was filthy, could not see the bottom, the veiw from the bar/resturant/pool is a giant concrete wall, a road at the top & a heap of rubbish at the base. Rotting timber floors & decking in our villa. Run down dangerous steps & pathways. Our villa door was out on the road, not inside the resort, traffic noise was loud & constant. My 2 daughters could not use their bathroom for 2 days due to it being outdoors along the main road & workers up power poles. There was major building going on with workers & roof restorations at the main area. The noise was constant all day, power tools & hammering, we were not warned or compensated for this. The day spa is not very nice, a dark dingy hallway with a couple of dated rooms. It was accessed via a worksite which we had to step over piles of tools etc to get in the door. Servicing of the rooms was very poor. They just dumped towels toilet paper etc in the main area. Turn down service only happened first night. We had zero outdoor seating at our villa, when requested several times we were told they didnt have any available. On day 4 we asked to recieve a refund for the next 2 nights we were booked in (not the nights we had already stayed) The refund was denied several times & we were forced financially to stay. The next morning, day 5 of 6, daybeds were finally bought to our room & a BBQ dinner was given to us. This was too little too late. We still missed out on many of our inclusions & were very happy to leave the following day. Do not go by their instgram page as it is very deceiptful. We were not even given some of the inclusions that are lised as part of EVERY booking

We very much enjoyed our stay at Luwak Ubud Villas. We stayed in a two bedroom villa with our children. The stand out was the friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was ever a trouble and they offered great tips for day tours and activities. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the gardens and pool were amazing. The breakfast was lovely and the staff accommodated to my daughter’s allergy. The only downside was that during our stay there was construction at the main pool/deck area of the complex and the deck was unsafe and not blocked off.

A Disappointing Stay at Luwark Estate Luwark Estate presents a striking first impression with its sprawling, beautiful, and cozy property. However, our family's recent stay in a two-room villa revealed a significant gap between initial appearances and the actual experience. The most crucial point for potential visitors to understand is that the pictures online are absolutely misleading. Do not rely on them to gauge the current state of the property. The reality is that Luwark Estate feels very old and poorly maintained. This lack of upkeep detracted significantly from what could otherwise be a charming environment. Its location is also a double-edged sword; while it offers a tranquil escape, it's very far from the city center, making excursions less convenient. Our experience with the staff was a mixed bag, ranging from helpful individuals to less attentive ones. However, a major issue arose with our breakfast order. Despite specifically requesting a halal breakfast, we were served pork, which is an unacceptable oversight and a serious concern for guests with dietary or religious restrictions. Another strange and inconvenient incident occurred upon our early checkout. We aimed to streamline the departure process, but the water to our villa was immediately shut off after checking out. This felt unnecessary and left us feeling quite inconvenienced. On a positive note, the massage services were good, providing a moment of relaxation. However, it's important to mention that the hygiene standards in the massage area were unfortunately poor, which overshadowed the quality of the massage itself. Overall, while Luwark Estate has the potential to be a wonderful retreat due to its size and inherent charm, the significant issues with maintenance, misleading online representation, staff inconsistencies, and particularly the serious breakfast error, made our family's stay a disappointing one.

The estate’s exterior is beautiful, and the chef’s Indonesian and Western dishes were excellent. Staff were mostly friendly, but management was unresponsive until I complained. Our first 2-bedroom villa had major issues—no WiFi, a dirty pool, weak air conditioning (one unit died completely), and running out of water by the third night. After 24+ hours of complaints, we were moved to a 3-bedroom villa, but it had new problems—poor AC placement that didn’t cool the room, a broken bathroom door magnet letting in more mosquitos, and an old fridge with black mold. When I raised concerns about the heat, staff didn’t seem to comprehend that the AC was inadequate, and there were no other villas with a better design. It felt futile to bring up more issues. After my complaints, the manager was more attentive but mostly pushed overpriced tours and services. The compensation—a single complimentary dinner—felt cheap given I paid nearly $1000 USD for the stay. When we told staff we got scammed by a nearby money changer, they offered free dessert, which was already included daily. The chef, waitstaff, and pool were the only redeeming qualities, but they don’t make up for the poor management and uncomfortable stay. Would not return.
