I started with asking to paint my bedroom furniture a rainbow of yellow, yellow orange, and orange... then matured to enlisting my sister and mother to strip and stain our dining room wood floor in random stripes of transparent stain, then glazing it. I remember my sister rehearsing Disco moves to the Bee Gees on that floor. I wish I had photos of my first designs in my youth.
