Mandatory Conditions
• The wearing of face masks is mandated indoors
• Social distancing must be observed of 1.5 metres
• QR Codes must be used for Covid-19 safe check-in
• Vaccination status must be provided
Australia’s federal, state and territory governments have put restrictions in place to slow the spread of COVID-19 which includes the number of people who can attend a funeral.
• The number of double vaccinated mourners to attend a funeral is 100
• Should there be any non-vaccinated or single vaccinated mourners present the approved number is reduced to 10
• Authorised officers will monitor businesses - On the spot fines of $1,000 may apply to individuals for not complying, or for using fraudulent evidence of vaccination or check-in.
• On the spot fines of $5,000 may apply to businesses for not complying
Evidence of vaccination status is required to attend a funeral service and one of the following will need to be produced to funeral service personnel, including:
• an online immunisation history statement
• a COVID-19 digital certificate from the Australian Immunisation Register
• a medical exemption, which includes either:
• a medical contraindication certificate or;
• a medical clearance form
