As a child I remember the enormous amount of work that went into my Nan celebrating Christmas. I know everyone thought she was over the top and maybe even a little eccentric, but she always made Christmas so special, everyone always had a great time and loved her celebrations that were months in the making.

She had special tablecloths, baubles, mountains of food, singing ornaments and tinsel that went on for days, oh how she loved tinsel.

Since my Nan’s passing in 2008, and maybe a little more each year I feel myself ‘channeling my inner Nan’ and celebrating in her over the top style.

This year has been one that I am sure no one will soon forget, starting with bushfires that ravaged our beautiful country and then the horrendous virus that swept the world by storm.

We have spent our year away from loved ones, locked away in our own solitude and really contemplating what matters most.
This Christmas we encourage everyone to reach out to your fellow neighbors, friends and family and ensure that others are doing okay especially if they have been touched by loss.

Christmas for me is full of beautiful memories and sharing those moments with my children. We remember in our own ‘eccentric’ way and celebrate together the way I was taught as a small child, cherishing those still with us and those with us in spirit.

From the Management, staff, and family here at Lovell Meizer Funerals we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous, and blessed new year.
