Spoke with someone on phone when I originally called and was told I could get a lock cut off my storage unit for around $85 or so, depending on the lock.
I had to use a locksmith to do this, because the storage facility does not allow you to personally do it, so there is no risk of damaging their door or latch.
Technician showed up on time, but damaged the latch on the storage unit badly. Then, proceeded to say it would be $250.
I stated that was not even close to what I was told, and he reduced price to $175. Technician did not seem to be bothered by the damages he produced to the unit. Once my payment went through, he was gone.
The next day I received a bill from storage unit for $150 damages to unit latch. I called and technician immediately, stating I needed him to cover that/reimburse me(because they debited my account that day)
He stated he would get in contact with his company and get back to me. No follow up. Called again, and finally got a call back from company requesting the storage name, location, unit #. Everything was provided to them.
Fast forward now, a whole week has gone by and I am now being ghosted by both the company # and technician # when I try to reach out. No response, No refund.
I would have just disobeyed the storage rules and cut it myself and did whatever damage may have happened. I would have still been better off financially, than working with this "professional" company.
