Complete Chimney Rebuild & Custom Stainless Steel Cap – Trumbull, Connecticut
This chimney had multiple caps that were heavily rusted and installed too close together, causing rust stains and allowing snow to accumulate between them with no proper drainage. This setup increased the risk of water penetration, especially during winter.
To provide a long‑term solution, we removed all brickwork from the flashing up and rebuilt the chimney. The existing flashing was still in great condition, so we kept it and informed the homeowner before continuing. Because water intrusion had reached halfway down the chimney, rebuilding from the flashing up was the most reliable fix.
After rebuilding, we sealed the brick-to-flashing joint with professional-grade chimney silicone to ensure a watertight finish. We then installed a custom stainless steel chimney cap designed to cover both flues—eliminating gaps where snow or water could collect and providing superior long-term protection. Stainless steel caps never rust and keep the chimney clean and secure for years.
The result is a clean, solid, and fully protected chimney. The water leak has been completely resolved, and the customer is very satisfied.
