UPDATE- In response to Liberty. Yes I do have a connection with a former employee , which is why I chose to use Liberty, even after this employee stopped working there.
As for my experience , this account is accurate. Actually, I wasn’t going to update, but here we are. My items were not picked up until 3/22 even after the back and forth and me expressing my concern of being unavailable for delivery after 3/26. Some of my items were left behind as well, after I was assured they would be sent if emptied. Another disappointment was when my belongings had been delivered we noticed that boxes were opened and re closed. Several wardrobe boxes had been opened and other smaller boxes were stuffed inside. Well, everything hanging in these boxes was now crumpled and under other items. I took a lot of time packing things properly for them to just do what they wanted. Now at this point I don’t know if anything is missing from the opened boxes. There was no reason for anyone to open any of my boxes without my permission. My bed was broken and taped together. Bolts were completely stripped and useless. Other pieces of broken furniture were just put in random drawers. Perhaps I was treated this way because of my connection to a previous employee, as I am aware this was not how things went in the past. Or perhaps this company is in such disarray and this is their new norm. As I said , this is my experience and it is 100% accurate.
When moving across the country is stressful enough, you hope to find a moving company that alleviates some of that stress. Liberty/United Van Lines is not it..
I met with an estimator and move coordinator the end of January. Everything was great…. Pick up date was set for March 3 with delivery of March 10-14.
Then…. Chaos. My move coordinator changed and crickets. (Which I won’t even get into, because I swear she was the only one in that place that knew what was going on)
After reaching out to the estimator because I got no answers from my new coordinator, I was told my pick up date had been changed. Ok. Now pick up is set for March 7. You would think delivery would be March 14-19. Nope. My furniture was put in storage until March 17th. So here I am March 10th in my new home with a blow up mattress. I am then told my delivery window is March 24-28. Well, I have been trying to get a sufficient reason as to why, since I will not be available for delivery March 26-April 3, as I need to be back in NY to close on the sale of my house. Liberty was well aware of this as was my original move coordinator. Now it is March 23rd and I still have no ETA for my furniture. I have called Liberty and United multiple times.
This is ridiculous. Over $10,000 for spent on this move and I will need to inconvenience a friend to take delivery of my furniture as to avoid paying even more for storage fees.
My advice is to stay away from this company.
