I very strongly recommend Liberty Moving and Storage for all your moving and storage needs. I used them for two different moves - one move into storage for 14 months and a second move to our new home.  They handled everything meticulously and with great care.  They also moved our baby grand piano into and out storage perfectly. Mike Federico, whose family owns the company, personally oversaw the move including coming to our home to make sure everything was going well during the day of the move. I would like to reiterate my strong recommendation for Liberty Moving and Storage.

As a professional organizer in the Long Island area, I’ve worked with many moving companies, but Liberty Moving & Storage stands out above the rest. Every move I’ve done with their team has been A1 since day one I exclusively work with Matt for sales because he goes above and beyond, not only answering every question but also making every single one of my clients feel like they are the top priority. His attention to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to a smooth moving experience are unmatched. If you’re looking for a moving company that’s reliable, professional, and truly cares, Liberty Moving & Storage is the way to go! Highly recommend!

From the start of our move (in CT) to our destination (in FL), Matthew Sussman and his team (specifically Tami A. as coordinator, and Carlos H. and his two teams (CT & FL) of movers) were professional, supportive, engaged and a pleasure to work with. We were always kept informed. Everything was as promised, on time, not rushed, cross checked and with no damage to anything! We feel the price we paid was very reasonable for the quality of services we received. We highly recommend Liberty Moving, especially this team of dedicated people.

UPDATE- In response to Liberty. Yes I do have a connection with a former employee , which is why I chose to use Liberty, even after this employee stopped working there. As for my experience , this account is accurate. Actually, I wasn’t going to update, but here we are. My items were not picked up until 3/22 even after the back and forth and me expressing my concern of being unavailable for delivery after 3/26. Some of my items were left behind as well, after I was assured they would be sent if emptied. Another disappointment was when my belongings had been delivered we noticed that boxes were opened and re closed. Several wardrobe boxes had been opened and other smaller boxes were stuffed inside. Well, everything hanging in these boxes was now crumpled and under other items. I took a lot of time packing things properly for them to just do what they wanted. Now at this point I don’t know if anything is missing from the opened boxes. There was no reason for anyone to open any of my boxes without my permission. My bed was broken and taped together. Bolts were completely stripped and useless. Other pieces of broken furniture were just put in random drawers. Perhaps I was treated this way because of my connection to a previous employee, as I am aware this was not how things went in the past. Or perhaps this company is in such disarray and this is their new norm. As I said , this is my experience and it is 100% accurate. When moving across the country is stressful enough, you hope to find a moving company that alleviates some of that stress. Liberty/United Van Lines is not it.. I met with an estimator and move coordinator the end of January. Everything was great…. Pick up date was set for March 3 with delivery of March 10-14. Then…. Chaos. My move coordinator changed and crickets. (Which I won’t even get into, because I swear she was the only one in that place that knew what was going on) After reaching out to the estimator because I got no answers from my new coordinator, I was told my pick up date had been changed. Ok. Now pick up is set for March 7. You would think delivery would be March 14-19. Nope. My furniture was put in storage until March 17th. So here I am March 10th in my new home with a blow up mattress. I am then told my delivery window is March 24-28. Well, I have been trying to get a sufficient reason as to why, since I will not be available for delivery March 26-April 3, as I need to be back in NY to close on the sale of my house. Liberty was well aware of this as was my original move coordinator. Now it is March 23rd and I still have no ETA for my furniture. I have called Liberty and United multiple times. This is ridiculous. Over $10,000 for spent on this move and I will need to inconvenience a friend to take delivery of my furniture as to avoid paying even more for storage fees. My advice is to stay away from this company.

My experience with Liberty was excellent. The first crew that picked up my furnishings were extremely professional, wrapped all my valuables with extreme care. My possessions were out in storage for a few months and when I called to have the furnishings delivered to my new residence, they were extremely accommodating. And the crew that delivered the furnishings were very accommodating and professional. They were an excellent team and extremely careful. I highly recommend Liberty.

If you are doing a cross country move I highly recommend you search “United Van Lines” because Liberty isn’t actually the company moving you, they use the national team for drivers and they do not disclose this. We had serious problems from the start and we notified our moving coordinator Tom before our driver even left, who assured me they would “make things right”. Steve Talenti came with his fancy brochures assuring us this cross country move would be stress-free. This move was anything but stress-free. He said we could track the truck live-that never happened, failed to mention our items would be loaded and unloaded multiple times and severely underestimated our truck needs. Steve also never disclosed that our move would be handled by a United Van Lines driver and that the loading and unloading teams would be done by agents. To keep it short-driver arrived 1.5 hours LATE after a 2 hour arrival window without any proactive communication. We had to keep calling him to see his ETA. His crew had been waiting 2 hours. He arrived with no packing supplies even though Steven Talenti said we would receive boxes. I tried calling customer service multiple times but since it was a holiday everyone was out of the office. (I did eventually get to Mirabel who was nice but she can only do so much) 6PM driver ran out of room on the truck and needs to come back the next day. The next day driver says he will arrive by 9am, actual arrival time is 12:45 because he had no help, and still no packing supplies. 3:45PM truck pulls away, items piled in the passenger seat because once again he ran out of space. Once truck is on the road we are notified days later that he ran out of space AGAIN on the cross country leg, so it will take 2 separate days to receive our items. Driver was supposed to arrive on a Sunday with our first delivery, it took me all day Saturday chasing the driver and our coordinator Tom to see if he was arriving on Sunday to which he said no he got in traffic days ago and would be a day late. Once again no proactive communication from anyone on this team. We had thousands of dollars of damaged items, items that are family heirlooms, antiques and items that are now completely unrepairable. But basically, too bad so sad. Our coordinator Tom assured us he would make things right. After three months of chasing, being told they are “working on it” and being passed from team members. We are receiving an insulting amount as an apology, not even enough to cover our damaged items. Please save yourself the stress, do the research and go with another company.

Dear Suely & Robert, I wanted to make sure I expressed my complete and 150% satisfaction with my move from Memphis, TN to New Rochelle, NY. Mr. Munoz was the driver and lead for my delivery. He is outstanding and down-right excellent! I have never had such great customer service from anyone like Ramon. He was the utmost professional, great attitude, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and was a positive force the day of delivery. He went above and beyond in all areas. Most of the time, he was 10 steps ahead of me with thoughts and ideas. (And, I have moved with professionals about 8 times during my career) Ramon is a winner. So often, managers only hear the negative. Well, Ramon deserves recognition for a job completed with perfection. Thanks Ramon! Chris Ingram New Rochelle, NY Ramon - I am up to my ears in paper! Thanks United - nothing broken, nothing scratched, nothing missing, all good! (Even the 200 year old China cabinet - perfect)

Jimmy, Paola and cousin are excellent professional movers. They were on time, very accommodating, quick and careful. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was the way we wanted. We couldn't ask for a better company to help us move out of state. We recommend their staff and recommend the company for making this happen, you would not regret it! Thank you for being part of this moving process.

My husband & I couldn't be happier with the services we received from Liberty Moving & United Vanlines. Gary Ferrero our Moving coordinator from Liberty was fantastic. He came to our home a couple of times to go through the entire process, answered every phone call and by the end of the process we consider him a friend and would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to make a move. Shannon from Liberty was great, keeping us in the loop throughout the entire process through emails, phone calls etc. David and his crew from United Vanlines were meticulous in the care they took with our furniture and made sure all items packed were documented and all items were received at our new locations. And I would also like to thank Lisa P. from Liberty for recommending her company to me. I'm glad I chose Liberty over several other moving companies I spoke with. I thought that moving and entire house load of stuff gathered over 28 years would be stressful, but Liberty made it a very seamless and stress-free process. Thanks again!
