We have a mix of good and bad experience trying out the place. Bought a chocolate croissant that looks really good but far from looking like and tasting like a croissant inside. I like the chocolate filling though. We tried their dipped ice cream and gelato too and they were fair for their price. Their chocolate drinks tasted like they were water downed. Most of their items are on the higher price end. Probably the reason why most of their staffs would look sour when you can’t give anything even though we’re only doing a takeout and could also be why we got a not so good versions of their drinks. Some staffs can be unaccommodating and unapproachable.

The cones here are a good price and definitely worth it, but the crepe and waffles were over twenty dollars each and honestly not very good. The ambiance was poor with uncomfortable seating that made it hard to relax or enjoy our desserts. We came in as a group of eight on a Friday night, and the experience with the staff was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, the person working was not at the counter. As soon as he came out, the first thing he said was that we were being too loud, even though we had just walked in. About ten minutes later he finally took our order, and after another fifteen minutes he came back and yelled at us again, telling us to be quiet or he would have to ask us to leave. I understand that we might have been a little loud as a large group, but there are much better ways to handle customers than raising your voice or threatening to remove them. It felt unwelcoming and unnecessarily aggressive. Overall, the desserts were overpriced, the atmosphere uncomfortable, and the service unprofessional. This is not a place for groups or anyone looking to have a good time. I will not be returning as there are much better dessert spots in the city that know how to treat their customers with respect..

Very delicious. Chocolate and ice cream are good! But the mango is not ripe, not soft and not sweet.

The best ice ice-cream/dipped softy ice-cream I have had in Halifax. The flavour is very mild and not too sweet which doesn't burn the throat.

Really good soft serve ice cream in a delicious hot dip with multiple flavour choices. I did not like the cone at all so would probably get it in a cup next time. Lots of quality chocolates to choose from, but a bit pricey as I paid 14 dollars for 4 small chocolates.

Delicious milkshake with just the right amount of sweetness in each sip. Lots of appetizing choices on the menu (i.e., chocolates, drinks, ice cream, banana split, affogato, milkshake, etc) and everything is relatively affordable. Although it was near closing time on a Friday night at the store, there were a lot of customers coming in. The staff were nice to let us finish our drinks/ice cream as they were closing up. Would definitely come back to try their other menu items. The one complaint I have is that despite there only being a group of customers when we entered, the only other table available wasn’t cleaned and had some ripped paper from the previous customer(s) which made it less appealing to sit in store and enjoy our treats. At this current time (beginning of May 2022), there is a lot of construction from Spring Garden to the location and part of the sidewalk wasn’t available, so be aware for those with mobility issues and children/pets. Also, there is limited seating available (two tables and 4 high chair all squished together at the entrance of the store). There is a service elevator for those with mobility issues to use near the entrance.

Wonderful soft serve ice cream, must try. We ordered hazelnut chocolate dipped ice cream which had small pieces of nuts as well, tastes very rich.

Over the years the quality seems to have stayed the same, prices gone up drastically - which is okay considering the product. But the way they serve has gone down. The people who used make ice cream used to love doing their job, they'd dip it a couple of times till they are satisfied that the customer is delighted. Not any more, the current team does it mechanically, with a single dip. Chocolate lovers seek a place to just enjoy the delight of seeing it made and for the feel of delight of the chocolate melting in your mouth. That is missing at Leonidas now.

It’s Belgian chocolate dipped ice cream that will change your life. The dip is rich and thick and the flavours are awesome. Hazelnut and salted caramel are my faves.
