I brought my vehicle in for a very specific issue: a strong vibration and metallic noise that occurs only in 5th gear.
From the start, I clearly explained the symptoms and explicitly said I suspected a driveline / driveshaft (universal joint) issue.
The workshop told me that it was not a universal joint problem and proceeded to replace the front wheel bearings, charging over $600, without explaining that this was only a trial or guess.
After the repair, the problem was completely unchanged. Same vibration, same noise, same conditions.
When I returned to question this, I was told that they “do not do universal joint repairs” and that they had simply tried the cheapest option first. This was never communicated to me beforehand.
I then took the vehicle to another workshop that specialises in driveline repairs. They replaced the universal joint that I originally pointed out, and the problem was fully resolved.
So the issue I reported from the beginning was in fact the real problem, despite being dismissed by this workshop.
No refund, no discount, and no responsibility was offered — only an offer to “look again for free” after charging for a repair that did not address the fault.
I’m not saying the wheel bearings had no wear, but they did nothing to fix the problem I came in for.
Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this workshop to anyone
UPDATE:
I would like to clarify a few points in a correct and objective manner.
I brought my vehicle to your workshop for a specific issue. I was told that this was not the cause of the problem, not that you were unable to carry out that type of repair. Had I known from the beginning that you did not handle this type of work, I would have simply thanked you and gone elsewhere. I therefore relied on your professional judgment and agreed to the repair that was proposed.
Subsequently, after taking the vehicle to another specialised workshop, it emerged that the problem was exactly the one I had originally reported, and once it was repaired, the issue was resolved.
I do not deny that the wheel bearings may have been worn, but my intention was to fix the main problem for which I had brought the vehicle in.
The most serious issue, however, concerns the content of your public response.
The accusations regarding alleged drug use are completely false, unfounded, and offensive, as well as entirely inappropriate. Likewise, the way I was described and labelled is neither professional nor acceptable, especially considering that you do not know me and have no basis to draw such conclusions.
A negative review does not justify personal accusations, insinuations, or intimidating language, particularly when they are entirely untrue.
Everything that has been written is public and documented. I hope this matter can end here, but it is evident that statements of this nature may also have legal implications.
