A Walk in the Park Shouldn’t End in the ER.
Spring is here, and everyone wants to be outside walking. But winter freeze-and-thaw cycles can wreak havoc on sidewalks. Concrete cracks, buckles, and creates dangerous tripping hazards.
If you trip on a broken sidewalk and break a wrist or hip, who pays?
It depends on where you are. It might be the city, a business, or a homeowner. Property owners have a duty to inspect their property and fix dangers. Leaving a 2-inch jagged crack in the middle of a walkway is negligence.
These cases are tricky because you often have a very short time to file a claim against a city or town. Sometimes as little as 90 days!
If you fell because a property owner ignored maintenance, call us immediately. We need to take photos of that crack before they fix it and hide the evidence.
