⚠️ Beware – Insurance Misrepresentation & $1,000 Still Not Refunded After 6+ Months
I had been a loyal patient at Laguna Spa Dentistry for years. In August 2025, I was informed that the ownership had changed, but I decided to continue treatment because I trusted the office.
After my exam, I was told they could treat my tooth, but their doctor was suddenly “out of network” with BOTH of my insurance plans. They instructed me to pay $1,000 upfront and assured me they would submit the claim to my insurance and that I would be reimbursed.
It has now been more than SIX months of constant follow-ups. Each time, I am told there is an “open claim pending with insurance.” However, after personally contacting BOTH of my insurance companies multiple times, I was clearly informed there is NO pending claim and nothing holding up payment.
Despite this, the office continues to delay and has not returned my money.
This experience feels misleading and extremely unprofessional. Patients should not have to chase a dental office for months to recover their own money—especially when the insurance companies confirm there is no issue on their end.
If you value transparency, clear communication, and ethical billing practices, think carefully before choosing this office. I regret trusting them after the ownership change.
