Hotel infested with bed bugs – and they ignore our messages to avoid refunding us!
We had booked a two-night stay, but we had to cut it short after discovering an alarming issue upon our arrival: bed bug traces on the mattress. When we entered the room, we were met with a strong chemical smell, and despite it being well after 3 p.m., the room was still not ready. Upon lifting the sheet, we saw black spots on the mattress and along the seams, with no mattress protector – the hotel claimed that “all the protectors were being washed.”
After reporting the issue to the reception, we were moved to another room. However, once again, after lifting the sheets, we found more traces of bed bugs, including droppings and bug shells in the seams.
So we moved to a third room, this time it seemed clean, but it was only available for one night. They then offered to move us back to the first room after a chemical treatment overnight, which we refused due to health concerns. Eventually, we negotiated an early departure in exchange for a refund for the second unused night.
However, the next day, the hotel told us to contact Booking.com for the refund, claiming they hadn’t yet received the payment. Once we returned home, we contacted Booking.com, who confirmed that the hotel had been paid months earlier when we booked, proving that the hotel had lied to avoid refunding us. Despite several attempts from Booking and us to get a response, we’ve had no news for over a month and a half and no refund.
This hotel is run by dishonest people who lie without hesitation. The cleanliness is shameful, with two rooms in a row infested with bed bugs and no mattress protectors. I strongly advise against staying here. The access to the hotel is also complicated, like something out of an adventure movie. You will find much better options nearby.
