Beautifully located ecolodge / camp on a small island in Aswan. For travelers who are used to camp life, this is as luxurious as it gets: fully functional rooms including A/C, running hot water, all-day electricity, clean bathrooms, delicious food. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, if a bit inexperienced. The owners are thoughtful people with a mission to spread the Nubian culture and support their local environment. They organized trips for us every single day, from a Nile promenade to a full day visit to Abu Simbel. The cons: the dock is hard to reach by car without detailed instructions; the cats who besieged us during meals can get annoying (even though they're cute and useful to ward off pests from the camp). The highlights: beautiful sunrise and sunset, taking a dip in the clean Nile, a massive menu with authentic Egyptian and Nubian options, the quiet and beautiful surroundings, being able to get to the mainland within minutes. There's much more to say but I'm running out of steam here... Thanks to everyone who made our stay super enjoyable! We'll be sure to recommend you to our friends and we hope to be back.
