The argument for flossing before we brush our teeth proposes that the flossing material will loosen bacterial plaque and/or food debris, making it easier for our toothbrush to remove and rinse it away. But those of us who prefer to brush first will point out that flossing after we brush will force the fluoride formula toothpaste deeper in. It may come down to a matter of personal preference in the end, but the most important thing is that we brush and floss at least twice a day.
