KMB PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL

I called KMB to come out and do some repair and change a house water filter assembly. Over the phone I was quoted $156 an hr for the tech. I was fine with that. The TECHS showed up early I was happy about that. The lead tech (I guess) promptly had me sign to approve work and gave me options about what we talked about. He was friendly and explained what would be done. He did not offer an estimate however. This is where the issue starts. The work was completed and he did great job. We had three valves put in and a water filter assembly. The total bill for this was $2046.00 with a military discount! Ive had pipes and hot water heaters put in crawl spaces for less than this. After the techs left. I called to ask for an itemized bill. Apparently they don't do itemized bills. I asked them 3 valves and a filter assembly cost 2000+. I was told 156hr for the tech and now $90hr for the helper. This job did need a helper. And I wasnt told there would be a helper either to the tune of 90 an hr iver the phone. So fir tech and helo for 2.5 hrs it was close to $600. I was also charged for the use of a special tool. Another $90. I didn't realize I had to rent the use of a tool either. Most companies have all the tools they need including special ones. That is part of the cost of the job. I use special tools on the airplanes I work on all the time I don't charge for their use when needed. I bought the bought so I could accept those jobs. The tool makes me money. So I'm at 700 or so for labor and tool rental. So these three valves and water filter assembly cost $1300? I find that very hard to believe. I was also told when I asked what valves got put in and their prices. It's the same price for all valves. Even though 2 valves are clearly much less robust than the hot water heater valve. Beware if you use KMB. Again the work is good and the tech is a good guy and he is the only reason for the 2nd star. KMB is way overpriced and I feel not they are very forthcoming when you question the bill. If I need work done again it won't be them. I'm quite sure their are much better priced plumbing services out there that do just as good of work.

I really want to recommend KMB Plumbing. My niece had been dealing with a stubborn plumbing problem with her plumbing tanks in her RV for over a year. No one could figure it out until I called KMB! Dawn sent her team over right away and after several hours of work found a soda bottle in the pipes! The job took two days to remove and repair the pipes, but her team was there all the way from start to finish. She has EXCELLENT communication skills as well, keeping in touch via text and phone. I could not have asked for better service. If my niece has any more problems with her RV plumbing, KMB will be my first call, not my last.
