We’re eleven weeks into our project and all we have is a demolished bathroom, a tub in the garage, and a list of reasons why they can’t get the next step done. We thought this place would offer us a turnkey bathroom remodel. We went to the I-10 and Durham showroom in October 2023 to make arrangements. They had a beautiful selection, glowing reviews, an apparently well organized design process, and years of time in the area. We were promised completion in 4-6 weeks once the work started if we paid up front. On Jan 4 2024 we messaged the project manager they could begin work. The demolition wasn’t complete until Feb 1 but was very professionally done. Since then: - They sent two plumbers to give bids. One bid had no plumbing license or company listed (just a name and personal contact) and we couldn’t find the name in the Texas plumbing license database. We never saw the other. - They told us they couldn’t separate our portion of the plumbing cost from theirs on the other plumber. I would think they do this daily. They finally agreed we should use our own plumber and promised a meager $250 credit we have yet to see. - We asked for the tub in mid March and we didn’t get it until April 5. - We asked for the tile three weeks ago and still haven’t gotten it. - The project manager sometimes takes days to respond to us and usually just tells us why there will be another delay. We are hoping to receive the tile and other materials from them this week and see if they can get to tiling the floor once the drain is done. During all this time they could have been working on drywall and framing the shower. Instead… nothing. April 24 2024: Our plumber was able to measure the tub and install the tub drain and supply. Valentino, KBD’s new project manager, did reply that he is looking at getting tile (which we requested Mar 28) delivered and installation scheduled. Stay tuned!

Sadly I must bring local awareness about this Houston company off Durham Dr. I signed a contract in Oct 2023, paid in full (as per their company policy as did all their other clients) for 2 bathroom remodels. Communication is absolutely lacking. I have had to make first contact with them in every step of the process. They had great communication in the beginning but once they got my money, communication went downhill, essentially got ghosted. We had a "start date" of January 23, 2024. Then one of their subcontractors came and demolished one of the bathrooms. When I inquired when he would return to actually start work, this guy was absolutely clueless. Then started the string of emails and texts to KBD and every response is so generalized and lacks substance and most important lacks ACTION. Someone is sick, endless excuses, "we'll get back to you about this" and no one gets back to you until I have to contact them again. This has been going on for MONTHS NOW. Yes, they demolished my bathroom almost 4 months ago and never returned to actually remodel it. Clearly by other reviews, this is not a unique case and seems to be a common complaint: Taking full payment upfront, demolish one area of house, then not returning for actual remodel. I have hired an attorney at this point, they know this and yet have not responded to the attorney either. My attorney has agreed the company has breached contract by obviously not holding to their expectation of actually providing any services. If they can come and finish up the bathroom they demolished months ago and refund me the master bath that they never started on, then your reputation may get a clean slate. UPDATE #1: as company replied, someone did come out today 4/15 however only to briefly look at the bathroom then reported they will deliver tub this week. 5/10/24 UPDATE: we did get a tub delivered to us 4/19. Since then I have hired my own plumber who is installing tub today. I am still awaiting a reply to an email I sent to KBD two weeks ago on next step of installation (no reply yet). This has been a slow painful process for us. It has been HALF A YEAR and KBD has only performed a demolition on what should have been a very simple project. I am still waiting to get my other project repaid. 5/29/24 UPDATE: We were scheduled for installation yesterday however ONLY upon emailing them first to confirm someone is coming, we get notice that they are rescheduling (third no show by them). Of course the storm was blamed as need to reschedule as it reportedly caused delay week prior (interestingly new daily positive reviews on google is a little suspect). They have us tentatively for June 19 at which I will provide another update. So now we are almost 8 months contract signed/paid with NO WORK DONE. We now have a tub installed (that we paid separately from our own hired plumber) as pictured in second pic. 6/10/24: never got a call back as requested to plan what exactly is planned for next week’s installation. Requesting a call from Celeste…have to post here since emails gone unanswered

They've had over $40,000 of my money in cash for over a year and I still don't even have permits. They did tear out a year ago and it still looks like that now. They ghosted me on an appointment in November 2023 after switching my subcontractors 3 times, and haven't reached out a single time since. They've totally abandoned my project and refused to refund my money. Update 6/17/24 in reply to the response - this is simply not true. We were informed our first contractor Hunter was let go, and his team would take over. Then they quit. Then a new guy came out (definitely not at my request) and did quote a higher price. I asked for a refund in October and Celeste denied that request, but instead assigned Ricardo who took over. Ricardo was very nice and he did not overbid. Never were we asked for additional funds. In fact he stated in November we were just waiting on engineered drawings to send to the county to get permits. Then we were told we would have a meeting January 8th but we were GHOSTED. That meeting date came and went nearly 6 months ago, yet we have not received a single email, text, or phone call in all that time. No drawings were sent us, no permits were pulled, no notice of funds needed, and we certainly never stated we would get outside bids, and why would we? We had a new team picked by you and within budget, and were awaiting CAD drawings. Respectfully, you've had our funds for 13 months and haven't even spoken to me in all of 2024, let alone delivered the very first step of permitting, the drawings which were supposed to be done last year. We have been extremely patient - please contact me to arrange a refund.
