If you’re starting to see ants in your Jacksonville home, there are a few things we usually recommend right away.
These won’t eliminate a colony completely, but they can reduce activity.
First, wipe down counters every night, especially around sinks, coffee machines, and food prep areas.
Ants are drawn to small residues that most people don’t even notice.
Second, store pantry items like sugar, cereal, and flour in sealed containers instead of leaving them in thin packaging.
We also tell homeowners to avoid leaving pet food out overnight. That’s one of the most common attractions.
Outside, keep mulch and landscaping from piling directly against the foundation. Ant colonies often start there and move inward.
