📌 Part 2: From Passion to Business – How Khao Che Was Born?
While catering for the royal family at Burhani Mehal, I received a special request—Khowsuey on the menu. The reaction was overwhelming! Even those who usually didn’t eat Khowsuey couldn’t stop themselves.
"You’ve changed our perception of Khowsuey. It’s so good that we can’t stop eating it!"
That moment hit me—I had been searching for a hero product, and it had been right in front of me all along.
Testing the Waters – Food Festivals
Before committing, I decided to test Khowsuey at food festivals. The biggest eye-opener was Islamabad Eat Festival.
For many, Khowsuey was completely new, but their reactions were unforgettable. One student visited our stall all three days, saying:
"I’m paying the festival entry fee just to eat your Khowsuey!"
This was proof—Khowsuey wasn’t just a dish; it was an experience.
From House of Khowsuey to Khao Che
We first launched House of Khowsuey, but we wanted a name that felt more inviting. That’s when we introduced "Khao Che", inspired by the Gujarati phrase "Do you want to eat?"—perfectly capturing the experience of building your own bowl.
The Beginning of Khao Che
The excitement at Karachi Eat convinced us—this dish had to be more than a festival item.
So, we launched our first Khowsuey cart, bringing comfort, nostalgia, and tradition to the streets of Karachi.
And this is just the beginning.
