Khalifa Bakers is a cornerstone of traditional baking in the heart of interior Lahore. Known for their Almond Biscuits (Badam Khatai) and Cake Rusks, these bakers have built a legacy that resonates not only locally but also among Pakistanis abroad. The almond biscuits are truly a flagship product, rich in flavor, good crispy almonds, golden brown & buttery in texture and the perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea. Even the almond free Khatais retains its charm as a delectable treat although the original is undeniably the highlight. Their Cake Rusks, the second standout product are unique in size and thickness, larger and more substantial than most available in Lahore. Thoroughly cooked to achieve the ideal crispness, their deep golden hue and robust flavor make them an indispensable addition to any tea time ritual. Another recommended item is the Square Baqer Khani (crispy butter Bread), which serves as a nostalgic breakfast alternative to cereals. Paired with tea, it holds a special place in the hearts of traditionalists, though it may not appeal as universally as the Almond Khatai or Cake Rusks. The key to Khalifa Bakers’ acclaim lies in their heritage recipes. The distinct flavors and textures of their Almond Khatai and Cake Rusks have remained consistent over decades, making them a household name for these items. Visiting their shop in the Walled City offers not just a culinary treat but an immersive experience of Lahore’s rich heritage. The journey through Mochi Gate, passing historic landmarks, bustling markets, and centuries old architecture, is almost as memorable as the products themselves. Unfortunately, Khalifa Bakers’ other offerings lack distinction. Their cakes, biscuits, and sweets do not stand out in a city teeming with quality competitors. Cleanliness in their shop leaves much to be desired, a glaring oversight given their significant sales and reputation. Additionally, they lag in adopting modern practices such as accepting digital payments or offering a structured online presence, leaving unauthorized sellers to charge hefty pricing. If Khalifa Bakers were to focus on improving hygiene, modernizing their sales infrastructure, and expanding their branding efforts, they could rival international brands like Haldiram. Their heritage products have the potential to achieve global acclaim, but the lack of investment in branding and quality control holds them back. Visit during off peak hours, Sundays or early mornings are ideal to avoid the chaotic traffic of the surrounding wholesale markets. Stick to their specialties: Almond Khatai and Cake Rusks are worth the price, which, while slightly high, delivers value for money. Soak in the heritage: The walk through the Walled City, complete with its cultural landmarks and spiritual sites, adds an intangible richness to the visit. In summary, Khalifa Bakers excels where it matters most, their Almond Khatai and Cake Rusks are culinary masterpieces that are rooted in tradition and unmatched in quality. However, to truly honor their legacy, they need to elevate their standards and embrace modern practices. Despite these shortcomings, a visit to Khalifa Bakers is a step back in time, offering both flavors and a slice of Lahore’s history.

Their products are undoubtedly good and delicious. Poor service . No CARD payment system. No P.O.S. I believe they don't pay tax . Bakery is located at a Very unhygienic surroundings. They should relocate to a nice place and improve payment system. FBR should visit them . I will write a letter to FBR to make sure the installation of P.O.S system at bakery.

They are specialist of Khatai biscuit. They have two variations one is plain and other is badam Khatai. Both are very tasty but badam Khatai is my favorite one Rate is 1600/kg and 2400/kg. You can go here only at bike or on foot 🦶

If you're on motorcycle and with a heavy rider you can reach there otherwise it's difficult to find. This is old Lahore the streets give you the old times vibes.

Naan khatai with roasted badaam. I would suggest to visit this place personally instead of ordering for delivery. You can experience old lahore and enjoy naan khatai as well.

I visited khalifa bakers with my son.We took a rickshaw & went to wazir Ali.masjid.From there walked all the way inside the gullies to Khalifa. It was a nice adventure and and saw androon lahore. Khalifa Bakers is quite impressive with fresh nan Khatia testing your taste buds. We ordered total 10 kg in various packets which was delivered to our hotel in the morning the day our flight was. Without a shadow of doubt their special nan khatia made with roasted almonds in desi ghee is the best. The special naan khatia is sold for Rs 2k per kg but its worth every penny once you eat it. Its taste is beyond words which I cannot describe. Loved it. Thank you Faisal Butt Sb for the lovely nan khatia and arranging the delivery on time.

One of the best places in Pakistan for Nan Khatai! The quality and taste are unmatched. A big plus is their delivery service, which is available within Lahore—super convenient for those who can’t visit in person. Highly recommended!

And mashaAllah the taste is same as always. Lots of respect for the owners who are serving us with dedication and devotion.
