Very disappointed with their service. I ordered 900 g of Nan Khatai and paid EXTRA for a tin box because I wanted to gift it to a friend abroad. When the order arrived, the total weight including the tin box was only 840 g (photos attached)!!! This means the biscuits themselves were barely around 700 g — far less than what I paid for. So basically I had to pay 3500 rps almost for mere 700 of nan khatai! I have always believed that reputable bakeries weigh their products separately from the packaging, whether it's a tin or a cardboard box. The tin alone weighs about 150 g, so the math speaks for itself. When I called their branch to clarify, they refused to take responsibility and casually replied, ā€œMadam, hum to aise he wzn krte hain, apko pta nhi kis ne kaha h shuru se packaging k sth be wzn hota aya h.ā€ Such a dismissive attitude was extremely disappointing. For a brand with such a big name and claimed credibility, this felt like a petty and unacceptable practice. It also raises concerns about how they dispatch their orders to other cities — are all customers unknowingly being shortchanged like this? Overall, despite being a very reputable brand, I'm very dissatisfied and would not recommend ordering from them again.

Ordered famous Almond naan khatai and French hearts from Khalifa bakers. I must say they have maintained their high standards of quality and service. Khatai's have the same great taste as of before. They have excellent home delivery service also. I had to bring these flavourful delicacies abroad for my friends. I'm sure they love it ! Thank you Khalifa bakers for providing us excellent service and taste as always.

When in Pakistan, Khalifa bakers is on my list of places to visit. Every time they show me the delivery option and the number to call for that 😃. For me it’s a place to personally go to. Not only for their merchandise but also for the streets one walks through to get there.

ā€œKhalifa Bakers’ naan khatai is like a bite of old Lahore— You can taste the tradition in every piece. No fancy packaging, just pure, timeless flavour.

I've tried their cake rusk and khatai many times but today the experience is worst. Firstly the thing is they have increased their prices because of their high demand but they low their quality of khatai as well as cake rusk. The khati is very thin and too hard to eat also the color of khatai is very dark. They khati they display are the good to look but they already packed boxes or kg and half kg. When I order they instantly give me the already packed khati I told them to pack in front of me but they ignore me. Overall experience; 10/4

Khalifa Bakers is a cornerstone of traditional baking in the heart of interior Lahore. Known for their Almond Biscuits (Badam Khatai) and Cake Rusks, these bakers have built a legacy that resonates not only locally but also among Pakistanis abroad. The almond biscuits are truly a flagship product, rich in flavor, good crispy almonds, golden brown & buttery in texture and the perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea. Even the almond free Khatais retains its charm as a delectable treat although the original is undeniably the highlight. Their Cake Rusks, the second standout product are unique in size and thickness, larger and more substantial than most available in Lahore. Thoroughly cooked to achieve the ideal crispness, their deep golden hue and robust flavor make them an indispensable addition to any tea time ritual. Another recommended item is the Square Baqer Khani (crispy butter Bread), which serves as a nostalgic breakfast alternative to cereals. Paired with tea, it holds a special place in the hearts of traditionalists, though it may not appeal as universally as the Almond Khatai or Cake Rusks. The key to Khalifa Bakers’ acclaim lies in their heritage recipes. The distinct flavors and textures of their Almond Khatai and Cake Rusks have remained consistent over decades, making them a household name for these items. Visiting their shop in the Walled City offers not just a culinary treat but an immersive experience of Lahore’s rich heritage. The journey through Mochi Gate, passing historic landmarks, bustling markets, and centuries old architecture, is almost as memorable as the products themselves. Unfortunately, Khalifa Bakers’ other offerings lack distinction. Their cakes, biscuits, and sweets do not stand out in a city teeming with quality competitors. Cleanliness in their shop leaves much to be desired, a glaring oversight given their significant sales and reputation. Additionally, they lag in adopting modern practices such as accepting digital payments or offering a structured online presence, leaving unauthorized sellers to charge hefty pricing. If Khalifa Bakers were to focus on improving hygiene, modernizing their sales infrastructure, and expanding their branding efforts, they could rival international brands like Haldiram. Their heritage products have the potential to achieve global acclaim, but the lack of investment in branding and quality control holds them back. Visit during off peak hours, Sundays or early mornings are ideal to avoid the chaotic traffic of the surrounding wholesale markets. Stick to their specialties: Almond Khatai and Cake Rusks are worth the price, which, while slightly high, delivers value for money. Soak in the heritage: The walk through the Walled City, complete with its cultural landmarks and spiritual sites, adds an intangible richness to the visit. In summary, Khalifa Bakers excels where it matters most, their Almond Khatai and Cake Rusks are culinary masterpieces that are rooted in tradition and unmatched in quality. However, to truly honor their legacy, they need to elevate their standards and embrace modern practices. Despite these shortcomings, a visit to Khalifa Bakers is a step back in time, offering both flavors and a slice of Lahore’s history.
