Kent Psychiatric Services
About
Local MD psychiatrist, two certified APRN and two therapist. We offer telehealth and specialise in medication management, LGBTQAI+ care, presurgical evaluations, mood and psychotic disorders. Weekend and evening appointments available. Serving the Omaha area since 2014. My goal for patients is for them to become well enough that they no longer need our services. I do not want patients to just exist, but to thrive as happy and functional individuals. We are medication minimalist and strive for the least medications and lowest effective dose. Much of our time is spent identifying the correct diagnosis and reducing medications started by prior providers. Insurances: BCBS Aetna Multiplan Cigna

As a healthcare provider myself, it was incredibly difficult to face and accept my own mental health struggles. After being admitted to Methodist inpatient and receiving some tough diagnoses, I felt overwhelmed and honestly a bit ashamed. Dr. Kent has been the reason that shifted for me. He helped me find the right medications, and for the first time in a long while, I’ve been stable and feeling like I can function as myself again. He also connected me with an amazing therapist and guided me toward a great primary care doctor, which made managing everything so much easier. What has meant the most, though, is how he has helped destigmatize mental illness for me. He explains things in a grounded, compassionate way that makes it easier to understand and accept what I’m dealing with — both as a patient and as someone who works in healthcare. Dr. Kent is knowledgeable, empathetic, and genuinely invested in his patients’ wellbeing. I’m incredibly grateful for how much he’s helped me grow, stabilize, and reclaim my life. Highly recommend.

Dr. Kent has been with me during the toughest 1 ½ years of my life. I originally met Dr. Kent when I was admitted into the psychiatric ward of Methodist Health Systems in Fremont last summer. Due to a combination of life stressors and incorrectly prescribed medications, I was having suicidal ideations and was overwhelmed by my current day-to-day existence. Dr. Kent worked to decrease certain medications, which helped my brain think and work more clearly. He always took time for me and answered my questions with patience and grace. Fast forward six months and I again found myself hopeless and helpless and wanting to end my life. I was in the darkest period of my life that I’d ever been. Over the course of the next seven months, Dr. Kent worked tirelessly to find a cure for my depression. Through multiple medication trials, inpatient and outpatient stays and even ketamine treatment, he finally found the right drug for me. There truly aren’t words to express the profound respect and gratitude that I feel for Dr. Kent. Even though I cried for months, he never gave up on me. I highly recommend him to anyone facing mental health concerns. His appointments are 30 minutes long and he takes time to show that he cares about you as a person. He is extremely knowledgeable about different medications and is a tireless and selfless provider. May Dr. Kent only know how many lives he has saved and changed for the better!
