I noticed some imperfections on my deck, which covers living space below, so watertightness is absolutely critical. I called KDOC Construction, and James came out promptly to inspect the lifting areas and seams. He confirmed my concerns and quoted me for resurfacing with a superior new process. Having built my own house, I’m quite knowledgeable about the structure—and I can spot when a contractor is trying to upsell something unnecessary. That’s why I’m sharing this: after our thorough discussions, I was so comfortable with James that I didn’t bother getting other quotes. I knew the project would exceed my expectations. I’m thrilled to say that after two weeks of work, my instincts and trust in James and his team were spot-on! The deck looks incredible!! It’s actually a cleaner, better job than the original Dexerdex-o-Tex installation. I’m overwhelmingly satisfied. The crew was amazing too. They even delivered a porta-potty on day one so they wouldn’t need to use my bathroom—such a thoughtful touch! The workers were friendly, highly skilled, and kept me updated every step of the way. They cleaned up the site daily, leaving no mess around my house (something I truly appreciate, and not every contractor delivers). Bottom line: If you need a new deck, repairs, replacement, or any waterproofing work, call James at KDOC Construction first. You won’t be disappointed! Owner James and his team were solid, they showed up prompt daily, exceeded our expectations from a quality of work standpoint, James and his team were professional throughout, and they delivered. I would highly recommend KDOC construction. They just finished a new deck and glass railing and did a great job. James was easy to deal with and his crew were punctual, courteous and professional. They arrived on time everyday and always left the site clean. James was always available for any questions and the work was done on schedule. Very smooth process.

We recently contracted with KDOC Construction to rebuild our two outdoor cantilever decks. This was a challenging project as the decks were 35' and 25' off the ground, respectively. Both were original construction with considerable damage from the coastal environment. We interviewed over ten contractors before meeting with James, the owner. James was the first and only contractor who fully understood the scope of the project and offered creative solutions for the demo and construction process that included multiple choices of materials that met our vision and budget. He managed every step of the project efficiently keeping the timeline on schedule. His crew was excellent. All were skilled carpenters who worked together as a team very well. They arrived everyday promptly at 7am, were polite, respectful and cleaned up the site at the end of each day leaving our house quite livable during the construction. We are very pleased with the outcome. Every detail is first class. We are happy to give KDOC Construction our highest recommendation.

About a month late on this review, but I was too busy enjoying our new deck. James and his crew did a great job. James listened to what we wanted, made sure to address any concerns that we had, and worked with us through the process to ensure the end product wound up better than we had envisioned. His crew was courteous, clean, and … for people who spent the better part of 2 weeks in my backyard… relatively unobtrusive. Bonus points for taking a magnet to the yard after they were done to make sure none of the kids caught a stray nail or screw.

I cannot say enough about KDOC’s team. They were so professional and meticulous. They worked cohesively together, and were thoughtful/respectful of my property and my family. They did a complete overhaul on a poorly constructed leaky 736 sq ft deck. The consistency of having the same team everyday throughout the project for set hours gave me peace of mind. Their work was beautiful and compliant with industry standards/guidelines. I’ve never had a better experience with Construction in my life. My mind was at ease and the completed project better than I could have ever imagined.

James came over to give us a bid and we were incredibly impressed. My wife and I had a couple rough rounds with contractors. Then when our deck started leaking we were in need of someone who could not only do a good job, but at a good price. KDOC construction was truly one of a kind. James was professional, organized, and efficient. Got us in for a bid quickly and sent us final estimate same day, which was very reasonable. We had five other bids by the end of it. But we went with James because he was the best. Scheduled us to start a few weeks out. Work was completed within a couple weeks. Any questions or concerns were fully addressed. We couldn’t believe how fast and efficient James and his crew were. We were prepared to be out 8 weeks. And they finished in less than 3. I wish all my contractors were this professional. Made the whole experience very enjoyable. Our deck has been solid. Looks beautiful. And he guarantees the work for ten years!
