Visited Kazan Japanese Restaurant recently with high expectations. The location is good and the atmosphere inside does give a slight Japanese vibe, which I appreciated. Service was okay overall, but the staff were not very attentive.
Coming to the ramen — it was average if you compare it in terms of authenticity. It’s nowhere close to the ramen you get in Japan, especially the noodles. They don’t offer noodle options and serve only one type, which was a hard chewy style. Still, I’d say it’s slightly better than many other Japanese restaurants in Bangalore.
The broth lacked the strong miso flavour you would expect from a proper miso-based ramen. Another disappointment was that they only serve chicken-based ramen. It’s okay to try once, but honestly I wouldn’t pay ₹700–800 again for this ramen. The ingredients also felt quite basic for the pricing.
On the positive side, the tofu dish was actually good and better than the ramen in my opinion.
Overall, not a bad experience, but it didn’t live up to the expectations I had for an authentic Japanese ramen spot.
