Spinal discs, also known as intervertebral discs, are made up of two main components:
1. Nucleus Pulposus
2. Annulus Fibrosus
3. Cartilaginous Endplates
Together, these components enable the spinal discs to provide cushioning, flexibility, and support for the vertebral column. Over time, age-related changes such as dehydration of the nucleus pulposus or weakening of the annulus fibrosus can lead to disc degeneration or herniation.
