Tal is a wonderful and patient piano teacher and I would highly recommend to anyone! I took lessons as a kid and hated it and have forgotten so much. Now as an adult, I’m back and Tal has completely adapted to what my goals are and my knowledge and gotten me so excited to get back into learning! If you’re an adult looking to learn a new skill, I couldn’t recommend him enough. He strikes a great balance between music theory and piano technique and is an incredible musician who can break down complex concepts. It’s never too late to start learning!

Tal is a wonderful music teacher and I could not recommend him more! I’ve been taking piano lessons for a few months now and have seen tremendous improvement in my playing. Tal actually cares about your progress and works to help you grow as a musician. As a young adult with limited music experience, Tal has taken the time to craft lessons to fit my skill level. Don’t be afraid to jump in if you are worried about how much music background you have. Tal is extremely patient and tailors lessons for you!

Tal is a fantastic instructor! I signed up for lessons having no experience reading music or playing the piano. Tal offers clear instruction on foundational principles, layers in interesting anecdotes about music theory, and tailors the lessons to my age / ability / musical interests. He is also very communicative and flexible with scheduling. 10/10 would recommend

Tal is a phenomenal teacher. He is a naturally gifted musician with exceptional teaching capabilities and techniques. He makes the lessons fun, engaging and informative and teaches theory in a manner that supports and compliments the current skills being learnt. Tal gets you to understand and appreciate music and within no time you’ll be playing your favorite tunes. Highly recommended!!

Neal is the best guitar and bass teacher I’ve ever had! He is so knowledge about all instruments and music theory. Tal Kalman music school is extremely easy to work with and very responsive. I highly recommend using them for all your music needs needs. Also they’re right in the East Village in a gorgeous apartment that is truly the best play to learn whatever instrument you desire :)

I had an amazing piano lesson today with Tal! He was patient, clear, and very knowledgeable. We worked through some challenging techniques, and he broke everything down in a way that made it easy to understand. I feel like I made significant progress, and I’m really motivated to keep practicing..! The lesson was both enjoyable and productive, can't wait for the next one!

Tal is really the best piano teacher I’ve had. I’ve tried several teacher sin NYC and it just didn’t work out. I’ve been studying with Tal now for almost 2 years and this is the first time I’ve felt motivated to practice in a long time. As a result my classical piano playing improved so much. On top of that he is also very organized and reliable. Thanks Tal!
