Using any harsh cleaning chemicals when you have a septic system has a terrible affect upon the "good" bacteria.
Septic systems need the "good" bacteria to eat the waste, secrete water and keep our systems working optimally. When using harsh chemicals like bleach, it gets into the drain lines out into the septic tank and kills the good guys.
It is of the upmost importance to use cleaning products that say "septic safe" to help mitigate the loss of our best buddies, the "good" bacteria!
