Love this spot! If you’re looking for Yunnan Chinese food, definitely check this place out. I came here with my family on a weekday during lunch because it’s less crowded. Highly recommend ordering the truffle mushroom rice, braised noodle soup and sea-bass wrapped in lotus leaves. Each dish is so unique and you can’t find them anywhere else in the bay. Also love the ambience!

Tried Jun Bistro with friends and it’s a great spot for anyone who enjoys bold, spicy Hunan cuisine. The menu has a lot of variety, including unique dishes you don’t commonly see, like Chinese donut with liver pâté, stinky tofu, and a Chinese-style taco with eggplant (a great vegetarian option). My favorite dish was the mushroom truffle rice — they use shiitake mushrooms and give a very generous portion. The flavor was rich and satisfying, especially if you love mushrooms. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with decor that gives a nice greenery-inspired feel. Overall, a great place to go with friends, especially if you enjoy spicy food and trying something a little different.

Such a great find! Jun Bistro delivers authentic Yunnan flavors with a modern touch. The dishes were flavorful without being overly spicy or greasy, which we really appreciated. Perfect for a casual lunch and very friendly for families too. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the overall experience felt warm and welcoming. Highly recommend if you want something different from the usual Chinese fare!

Food was really good! So happy to see yunnan cuisine in the bay, although this one was more fusion, it definitely appeals to most people and its a great way to introduce diverse Chinese cuisine to them :) so great concept. Every dish we ordered was pretty balanced and flavorful. Highlights were the squid, the eggplant dip with rice crisp, and the mushroom arugula salad. The banana leaf sea bass was a tad bland and overcooked, fried potatoes were so-so, not very well seasoned nor crispy, and the 酸汤肥牛 sour beef soup was great but the beef gets overcooked from the stove and just a tad too heavy for me. The laksa fried rice was good but not much laksa flavor. Service was friendly but no reservation unless you’re the owners friend and even though their waitlist will say that there’s no wait, if you’re a large group you still have to wait. And they only have an AI agent for phone call so that doesn’t help lol

I recently tried Jun Bistro in Milpitas, and it was a really enjoyable experience. The restaurant focuses on Yunnan and Guizhou flavors, and you can really taste the thought put into each dish. The flavors are layered and interesting—sour, savory, and aromatic all at once—and the textures make every bite enjoyable. The drinks were a nice touch too, adding a little sweetness or floral note to the meal. Overall, it’s a cozy spot with dishes that feel creative and different, without being over the top. Definitely a place I’d go back to if I wanted something flavorful and a bit out of the ordinary.

Was recommended to come try Yunnan food here, and it was delicious! We ordered several mushroom dishes since we heard they were known for them, our favorite was the truffle and mushroom rice. There was definitely many more items on the menu we want to try next time. Appreciate the easy ordering throug QR code on your phone.

This is a Yunnan restaurant that specializes in mushroom dishes. Every dish is quite interesting. In fact, even the simple fried potatoes are delicious because the sauce is very special. I didn't like the banana leaf wrapped fish very much because the sauce is sweet. Server was super friendly !

This place had good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. We ordered three dishes—a mushroom & maitake, a stir‑fried Cheung Fun, and a stir‑fried beef. Unfortunately, all three dishes had the same flavor, the same very dark color, included American bacon strips, and were extremely salty. I’m not sure…maybe it’s a new style of half‑Yunnan, half‑American fusion?

Really enjoyed the atmosphere here — it’s cozy yet stylish, perfect for a nice night out. The service was attentive and welcoming throughout our visit. Both the drinks and dishes were beautifully presented and tasted just as good as they looked. Overall, it’s a solid Asian fusion spot that’s definitely worth trying!

We literally jumped for joy walking into @junbistro, a Yunnan-inspired California bistro built on a beautifully simple idea: blending the flavors of Yunnan with the spirit of California culture. The name Jun carries so much meaning. It comes from 菌 (Jun)—the local word for mushrooms in Yunnan—and also echoes the month of June, when these mushrooms flourish in the wild. More than that, it represents the heart behind this place: creating a space where Joy, Nutrition, and Unprocessed food can be shared among friends and family. A true natural kitchen that brings you back to what’s authentic. Let’s Jun Big 🤍 We ordered a spread that truly reflects that philosophy: 🐟 Banana Leaf Wrapped Seabass — steamed whole with herbs and finished in a fragrant coconut laksa sauce 🥩 Spicy Sour Soup Beef with Guizhou Mujiang Seeds Oil — bold, tangy, and deeply comforting 🔥 Fermented Shrimp Sauce Stir-Fry Beef Loin — a Guizhou classic packed with umami 🍗 Fried Chicken with Tom Yum Sauce — crispy with a bright, zesty kick 🍤 Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice — rich, aromatic, and impossible to stop eating From the warm, community-focused space to the friendly, welcoming service, every dish tastes like it was made with intention—food that reminds you of love, nature, and home. Asian-fusion done thoughtfully, rooted in Yunnan traditions and made for the Bay.
