Shane from Jim’s Antennas Salisbury was asked by one of his Strata Managers to investigate reception issues a resident was experiencing to her property after a re-roofing job was completed.
Shane investigated and found that the roof had changed from a tile roof to a new corrugated colourbond roof.
Previously the antenna was installed inside the roof space and since the new Colourbond roof was fitted, major attenuation of the FTA signals occurred.
The simple and appropriate resolution was to move the antenna outside away from the obstruction that the roof was causing. A new Digital antenna with 4/5G filtering was installed replacing the older Analogue antenna.
Because of the Strata title regulations, the antenna was reinstalled at the back of the house below the top roof line. Signals were regained nd the resident was happy, back to watching her regular programmes.
