Birds in Australia are clever, persistent animals. They tend to find the smallest gap to perch high in their neighbourhood, usually on a tv antenna.
This was the case when Shane from Jim’s Antennas Salisbury, attended a property in Gawler for one of his clients who was having trouble with birds perching on his antenna and leaving droppings on his newly replaced colour bond roof.
After already installing bird spikes to most of the antenna, Shane assumed that the small gaps left on the ends of the antenna and in-between the elements, would be an unsuitable place to perch.
Totally wrong! Shane returned back to the property and covered the whole antenna with plastic, UV treated bird spikes (just to be sure), leaving no gaps for the birds to perch on.
The results are clear in the photo shown.
