From 14 September 2025, NBN Co will launch the NBN 2000 โHyperfastโ tierโup to 2Gbps for eligible FTTP and HFC homes. Many plans will also get free boosts, like NBN 100 jumping to 500Mbps.
Only FTTP and HFC can access NBN 2000. If youโre on FTTN or FTTC, you may qualify for a free fibre upgradeโcheck your address on the NBN Co site.
To make the most of these speeds, you may need a Wi-Fi 6 (or newer) router, upgraded cabling or wall points, and optimal router placement for full-home coverage. Fast internet to the street wonโt matter if interference, old gear, or poor placement slow it down inside.
