Arizona Attorney General just sued MV Realty over predatory contracts that trapped over 1,500 homeowners with hidden liens and early termination fees.
Here's what happened. The company offered homeowners cash upfront in exchange for exclusive listing rights if they ever sold. Sounds simple, right? But MV Realty recorded liens against those properties without full disclosure. When homeowners or their heirs tried to sell or transfer the property, they got hit with thousands in fees to get out.
The worst part? Sales agents earned $500 per enrollment, incentivizing volume over transparency. Many homeowners never saw complete documents until a notary showed up to execute the contract.
