This day marks the start of #BlackHistoryMonth! This month we are honoring Guion Bluford who was not only a former NASA astronaut, but the first African American to go to space. After graduating from Penn State in 1964, Guion was commissioned as a officer in the U.S. Air Force where he training as a fighter pilot, to go on to complete 144 combat missions.
