With construction yet to begin on the new Long Beach Amphitheater, the venue has already announced its first booking.
Heavy metal band Mötley Crüe will play on Sept. 19 at the 11,000-seat venue set to be erected next to the Queen Mary, venue staff announced today.
The venue’s first official show will likely take place on a different day before the Mötley Crüe concert, but details for that show have not yet been announced, said Loren Simpson, communications director for Mayor Rex Richardson.
Construction should begin in early December at the 5-acre site adjacent to the Queen Mary, Simpson said, adding that the city was still awaiting final approvals.
