This review is a bit overdue! I had written one but completely forgot to post it, so here we are.
EDITED: In 2023, “Jordan” sorry not “Peter” had great communication and was able to come to our car on very short notice, which I really appreciated. Upon arrival, he gave us a quote for both the ignition and door handle repairs. However, when I asked for confirmation on the price, it changed. This made me uncertain whether it was a solid deal, so I asked for further clarification, which was a bit concerning as the price kept fluctuating.
We had the car towed to his shop, and Peter provided a new quote. I asked him to give us the most affordable price, and we agreed on $580 for both the ignition and door handle replacement. I also texted him to confirm if paying in cash was okay, and he responded with "All good."
When my husband went to pay, he had $600 with him, but Peter mentioned he didn’t have change, so we ended up giving him the extra $20. I wasn’t there in person, but my husband said it felt awkward, and Peter didn’t make much of an effort to return the change.
When we got the car back, I immediately noticed the door handle—it looked like a used part with a number painted on it, and the key part was broken (see photos). The key didn’t work to open the door manually. Additionally, we now had two separate keys for the car: one for the fob and one for the ignition, which caused some inconvenience, especially since we couldn’t use the key to open the car manually. The ignition also wasn’t connected properly, creating another issue.
Overall, I’m really disappointed with the outcome. While I know others may have had positive experiences, this was not the case for us. I won’t be going through this process again, and as a result, I’m giving J MILO a 2-star rating. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.
