Look no further than J Marin. He is true to his word, is exceptionally knowledgable and provides a fantastic service. He has serviced our boiler for a few years now and never lets us down. Recently we moved house and inherited an ancient boiler. Typically it broke down on a Saturday but on Sunday J performed a miraculous fix which was much needed and gave us time to buy a new one. He was happy to provide advice around the purchase of a new boiler when needed. The following Friday he installed our new boiler. He was incredibly efficient and tidy and we were really happy with the cost involved. I won’t hesitate to continue using his services.

Terrible service. Booked then didn’t show up. Called the following day to be told that someone would call me back. Received a call from a person purporting to be an engineer telling me that the previous day’s engineers named - Tom and Harry (where was Dick I asked?) we’re called to an emergency so couldn’t attend. Really? This chap called ‘Baz’ didn’t turn up either. Absolute joke. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Actually called other companies and all the numbers seem to be very similar and are forwarded to a call centre answered by handlers who give the same company name no matter which number you call. It is all very strange,

This is the worst company and staff I have ever dealt with. Yesterday, their engineer came to fix my boiler malfunction. Worked around for an hour and said the problem should be resolved now. I paid £142 for the job. As soon as I came back after paying him, I noticed that the boiler had stopped working. He had already driven away by the time I rushed back to my street. So I called him and he said to reset and rerun the boiler a few times and it will be fine. I followed the instructions but the boiler is still malfunctioning. I got back to the company, spoke to someone who said he was the manager and promised to sort it out with the engineer and call me back. He never did. I then called the company number half a dozen times, each time it ended up with the 'manager will call you in 5 minutes' promise which never materialised. In my final call of the day, one of the staff members promised that another engineer will visit you tomorrow between 10 to 11 am and we won't charge you for the visit. So I waited, and of course, no one showed up. I called again this morning and the same old 'manager will call you in 5 minutes' song started. I called a few times again after no manager callback, and they changed tactic by not answering my phone, or immediately putting me on hold, and eventually probably barring my number as now my call ends immediately. I would've expected any professional organisation to have some self-respect. Not these guys. Please note that I wasn't expecting the engineer to necessarily fix the boiler issue in that one hour but at least have a firm handle on the issue and give me a quote or next steps to deal with it. All I got is a £142 bill, zero result and progress, and a lot of frustration. Really feel cheated. Please be aware. NOTE: Since posting the feedback above, apparently JMarin gas owner responded and left his phone number to contact him (see his response below). I called him, and going by what he said, it seems that a group of scammers has hijacked his business name on a fake website and probably already done severe damage to his business reputation. We indeed live in a time where Fake is the New Reality now!

Excellent. Came and sorted out our combi boiler within the hour. This guy really knows his stuff and very reasonable prices. Will definitely will use again.

Excellent service. Replied to an email in under 5 minutes, came out the next day outside of normal working hours to look at my boiler. Diagnosis, good explanation of the problem to a lay person and quote received within an hour of leaving.

Honestly that was the worst service ever. The guy came in, called the customer service of the boiler and told them the same we told you on the phone and that’s it. They told him what needs to be changed 😂 I would do that myself- that is called Gas Safety Engineer? We had to pay for that £140😂 This is crazy really. Although we explained to the person on the phone what was the issue, boiler name etc. The person told us on the phone that the engineer will have the parts in his car to replace them. The guy told us that he will need to go to the shop (he will charge us for the way his working hour which means if he will go to the shop and back within 1h we will need to pay additional £140, £270 for the parts plus it will take him to exchange the parts around 2h) and than we will probably end up paying £800. That is honestly a joke. Why would you charge us for going to the shop for the parts? Honestly this is a very bad service. I hope no one will use this company. This is really a scam. Or we just end up with the worst gas safety engineer. Also, we requested an invoice- but you never send it. Really disappointing service- will for sure not recommend your company to anyone.

The diverter valve in our boiler failed, leaving us without hot water. He diagnosed it quickly, sourced the right part, and got it fixed the same day. Very efficient and clearly experienced. Would definitely use him again!

This is not a local company that I thought I was dealing with, it’s a call centre operating out of India under the umbrella of ‘instant jobs’. I was charged £142 for the engineer (who was perfectly nice) to not be able to diagnose the problem. And the operative was very rude when I spoke to him about this. I would never have knowingly called a company like this.

Absolutely fantastic bloke. Had a bird come down the chimney, and rang him as the bird was stuck behind gas fireplace. He was around within two hours, and didn’t bat an eyelid releasing the magpie. Amazing!

They managed to squeeze me in the same day, turned up on time, and got straight to it. The engineer quickly found the problem (a dodgy valve), explained what had gone wrong, and had it all fixed within a couple of hours. No messing about, wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.
