Tooth extraction is usually relatively straightforward. At Isa Smiles, Mount Isa’s renowned dental clinic, the vast majority of tooth extractions are performed quickly while the individual is awake by using local anaesthetic injections to eliminate painful sensations. After the anaesthesia, our oral surgeon loosens the tooth with an instrument called an elevator before removing it with dental forceps.
