This medical device I have recommended to a number of my clients, adults and children in the last couple of months who have fluid that has accumulated behind the ear drum resulting in hearing loss, pressure sensation and infection (glue ear or otitis media with an effusion) as a result of the eustachian tubes not allowing the fluid to drain away correctly.
How does it work: It reduces the symptoms of fluid accumulation behind the ear drum by opening the eustachian tubes allowing option for relief of symptoms and to he fluid associated with the condition to safely drain away. To diagnose this its about taking a good history and then by looking at the ear drum with an otoscope (and yes if there is fluid you can see it).
This is just one option that I can suggest to my clients. Having a nursing background means that you have access to a wealth of knowledge and experience during your appointment.
