It shocks me how many people don't seem to mind "Ugly Facebook" properties.
What I mean is many people not only have a Facebook profile (your personal Facebook), but they also may have a Fan Page in Facebook. This could be for a restaurant they own or a business, or special group or similar. This "Page" represents an entity other than the personal profile which you share among friends.
Many people have these Fan Pages (the original name of Facebook Pages), they slap a photo of something interesting on the "front" of the profile and start adding advertising or interesting tidbits about their business or what ever.
The most effective real estate on your Facebook page, aside from a post that shows in someone's feed is the Fan Page background (see photo above).
