The CQ Frames and Trusses Manufacturing Facility combines innovative design, advanced construction techniques, and exceptional project management to create a highly efficient manufacturing plant that addresses the growing demands for affordable housing in Queensland.
Delivered on time and within budget, this project exemplifies the highest standards in material innovation, sustainability, and design, to continue to optimise output. IDC Construct was engaged for both the early design and construction phases, in addition to managing civil works.
The 5532sqm manufacturing plant utilises light gauge material and an innovative webbed truss design to achieve a 50 metre span over 104 metres, while maintaining structural integrity and stability, pushing the limits of structural engineering. The webbed parallel truss distributes load effectively, enabling the large, open space required for operations. As a result of the completely clear under-roof design, as well as the 6 metre free-standing cantilevered awning, machinery such as low-mast forklifts are able to mobilise without obstruction, ensuring workflow production remains efficient and productivity is maximised.
