WARNING: Stay Away from I-55 Truck and Trailer Repair
To be completely honest, if you can avoid these peopleādo it. My trailer hub busted and I had no choice but to go there. At first, they seemed legit, like they knew what they were doing. But that was just the beginning of the nightmare.
From the minute I arrived, I repeatedly asked for an estimate on how much the repair would cost. No one gave me a straight answer. One guy finally told me it wouldnāt be more than $2,000. Four days later, when the parts arrived and the work was done, they hit me with a $9,000 bill. I nearly had a heart attack.
After arguing with them for over two hours, they lowered it to $7,000. I told them I only had $6,000, and they said theyād take itābut only if I paid via Zelle or Cash App, which was a huge red flag in hindsight. I paid just to get out of there.
Not even 200 miles later, everything came loose and started leaking oil. I barely made it to a Loveās truck stop, adding oil constantly so nothing else would get damaged. Loveās gave me a full inspection and estimate for everything I-55 supposedly āfixedāātheir price? $2,500.
Thatās when I realized Iād been completely ripped off. I tried calling I-55 several times. They kept saying theyād call backābut never did.
Worse, while I was there, I noticed almost every truck that left their shop was back within hours. Either the problem came back or I-55 messed something up even worse. The employees were openly complaining about not getting paid and honestly, a few of them seemed to be on something. It was clear they didnāt care about the work or the customers.
Theyāll do whatever it takes to get you in the door. But once theyāve got your money, good luck getting help if anything goes wrong.also DO NOT pay CASH or ZELLE or CASH APP.good luck and drive safe.
