Take this for what it’s worth, since I didn’t ultimately have coins of any value, as it turns out. So I can’t speak to their fairness on an actual trade. But, after reaching out to three coin shops through their various online forms to ask about the potential value of a boatload of state quarters and other coins that we’d inherited in a junk drawer, Mitch at Hyatt was the only one who even bothered to respond. His reply included a very helpful assessment of our kind of coins’ value, plus offered a resource for us to check on that summary. It was such a pleasant, generous sharing of enthusiasm and info, it made me note this store in my contacts, for any future questions about collecting and purchases of coins / metals. I figure if that’s the high level of customer service they give a non-customer, it bodes well for doing actual business with them.

Hyatt Coins is hands down the best coin shop in Charlotte. The staff really know their stuff, and you can tell right away that this is a family-operated business with years of experience. They make both new collectors and seasoned hobbyists feel welcome. The shop has a huge inventory of coins, covering everything from classic U.S. series to world coins, bullion, and even some fascinating local pieces that highlight Charlotte’s history back when it had its own mint. For anyone who appreciates history and numismatics, that alone makes the visit worthwhile. What makes Hyatt’s even more unique is that the coin shop is attached to the gun store. It’s an unexpected pairing, but it adds to the experience and convenience. You can browse one of the best selections of coins in the region and then step right into a fully stocked firearms shop under the same roof. Whether you’re looking for investment pieces, rare finds, monster boxes of bullion or just want to learn more about coins, Hyatt’s is the place to go in Charlotte. Professional, knowledgeable, and family-driven, it’s a shop that truly sets itself apart.

Awesome selection of silver and gold at all prices and sizes. Have been buying here over the years!! Also a great selection of firearms if you are a NC resident. They are always busy. So it helps to come in with a plan in mind to buy when your turn comes around!! Great shop in Charlotte!!!!

Today was my first time going to Hyatt Coin Shop. The employees were very nice and informative. I ended up buying a 1926-s peace dollar for a good price. He also let me layaway a trade dollar in pretty good shape. Hyatt Coin & Gun has good variety of both coins and paper money for fair prices. I had a good experience there, and I think you will too!

Ripoff! Don't sell them your silver. They tried to pay me $10 less than silver spot price on my sealed and never touched Eagles from the last 20 years....And they lied about what the current silver price was! They literally tried to pay me scrap junk metal prices for my collectable coins that had some values twice what they offered. I'll never go back.
