We contacted Hutchinson Pool Repair after receiving a recommendation from a colleague. We discussed our pool remodel with the owner and believed that he would do an amazing job, He came recommended seemed most knowledgeable so we signed a contract to move forward. At the time we were unaware that he would not be doing any of the work we paid more believing Hutchinson was doing the work, it was subcontracted to a pool remodeling company, fine but then we expected to have Doug manage, communicate and have complete oversight of the job. That did not happen. The pool was demoed and then left for several days. The workers that showed up spoke minimal English and clearly had not been given all the information on the job, as things did not go according to the plan. Doug showed up on demo day to collect 50% of the project then we did not see him until the day before plaster, we thought then it turned into 2 days for plaster. I am sure he was showing up for money but when he saw the state of the pool and things done incorrectly and incomplete he did not ask, instead he called his sub to make corrections which we settled on because we were frustrated and did not want to take anymore time with the entire process. We were told misinformation multiple times and were constantly waiting on workers to show up. We were looking forward to entertaining our grand-kids visiting. that had come for their first visit since we moved, Instead our weekend was ruined waiting for crews to show up 2 days in a row that never did until late when we believed they weren't going to show at all. We were told that Hutchinson would send someone to clean the pool the first 3 times they showed once. As we cleaned the pool and could finally see the the bottom we found it was stained from where the contractor filled the pool. I have texted and received no response. While we missed spending quality time with our family that we had not seen in years, Doug had company in town, trip to Sea world and two deep sea fishing trips along with his contractor being out of town. He will respond that we were difficult. We paid a lot of money for quality service, the job was completed but not to expectations and apparently we are to live with stained plaster and have had to clean the pool and yard ourselves from the mess that was made. Doug was fine at accepting criticism about his contractor but at the end of the day he made a commission for selling and managing the project which he was apparently to busy to do. Very disappointing experience Photos of what we were left with still cleaning the tile and grout and pool. Far cry from turquoise waters we were expecting to be left with. If you use them know they do not do the work and make sure that their social schedule is not too busy to take care of you! Now that we have cleaned the pool the water color is clear and pretty but having to be reminded of the frustration seeing the staining on brand new plaster unacceptable! As a note re sent text this morning for a response before posting this review and still none.

I moved out of state and contracted these guys to take care of my pool. I left them with crystal, clear water. After 2 weeks they let it go cloudy and the walls are green with algae. They charged me for 2 months work within 2 weeks of starting service. I told them how many chlorine tabs they needed to use to keep the water clear and algae free, but Andrea emailed me to tell me how much more she knows about pools than I know about my own. After one visit, my realtor visited the house with clients and the hot tub walls were green with algae - she took the photo that's attached. I emailed Andrea for clarification about the hot tub walls, she never answered the question, just ranted about how much she knows about pools. Funny, it's never been cloudy while I've owned and maintained it - this is the first time I've ever hired a pool service in 10 years of owning pools, and I only hired them because I'm now 800 miles away waiting for the house to sell. They claim to use 4 tabs of chlorine every service, yet 3 days after their last service, the chlorine feeder is completely empty of evidence of any tabs. The people buying our house have asked for a 'professional' pool service as condition of the contract. This is in addition to Hutchison's 'professional' pool service that I paid for to keep the pool water in top condition. For the business owner, this is not an ego competition, you should run a business the way you'd like to be treated yourself. I never expect too much from a business - other than just do the damn job you're paid to do. Avoid this company at all cost.

Run & don’t look back. I had my pool remodeled when this company used the name Hutchison Pools & was operated by Doug & Andrea Sutton in 3/2018. They are now operating under Hydrolife Pool Service (Andrea) and Sutton Pools (Doug). We were disappointed with the plaster from day 1 but told the color would even out in 3 months or an acid wash would correct it which did not. We’ve had continuous problems which were never corrected. I have emails to both and starting in 2021 when I was told by Doug that Andrea took control of the company stating the problem that have yet to be corrected. Now in 2024 I have abalone shells popping out of the plaster and a stain on the tanning ledge and pieces of deck chipping off.

We started using Hutchinson Pool Repair several years ago because they were certified to replace one brand of pool part that we needed. We keep using them because they have been good to work with and are reliable about estimated costs and timeline for service. Most recently, they were investigating a leak and had to call in an outside leak detection service. When the outside service didn't initially locate the leak either, Hutchinson pursued it from their end until the leak was found and repaired. Pool repairs are no fun but it's nice to be able to trust the people you call to fix it.

Great weekly pool service and maintenance by Michael. However, when it came time to cancelling our service (our son has taken over) they were very difficult to work with. I was suppose to receive a refund and still haven't seen it a month later. Edit - Mr Sutton (owner) reached out to me and sincerely apologized for my experience. He has gone above what I would have ever expected to make things right. It is great to know that there are still business owners that truly do care about their customers and strive for 5. I will be sure that if I have any pool needs in the future, I will most definitely be reaching out to Mr Sutton.

I hired Hutchinson pool to do my inspection before I closed on my new house. The report from Hutchison Indicated that there were no major problems and that the surface of the pool was good. The day after I closed on the house I noticed on golf ball size crack in the plaster of the pool. Had I known this I would have negotiatedthis expense in house sale or walked away. Now I'm facing $10000 resurfacing costs.

I was a previous customer of Hutchinson for some repair work a few years ago. When my current service company couldn't replace my lights, I called Hutchinson. I told them up front that the other company said the wires were very tight and they couldn't pull the lights out. Hutchison was able to do it and replace the lights. We have our house on the market so it was important for us to get these repaired ASAP so we could move forward with showings. Andrea worked us into the schedule and got the work done. I highly recommend them for all your pool needs.

I would like to experience my sincere gratitude to Shirley at Hutchinson Pool. She went out of her way to help us with the pool equipment issue by calling the manufacturer of the part we had a problem with. We installed the pool in June so she suggested the best way to go about fixing it and her advice was spot on. Although her company didn’t service our pool at the end, her advice, the time she put into researching the best possible option for us, saved us money and great deal of aggravation. It’s professionalism at its best. Thank you for all your help. We are so grateful and will not only use your company in the future but also recommend it it to all our family and friends .

I own a rental property in Houston. Being located out of town it is often difficult to find contractors that do an excellent job, on time and on the budget they quoted. Being at the end of this project I had to report how well they did. I came down to inspect the job after it was completed and was totally blown away at how nice it was done. I had a complete overhaul of our pool from newly installed pump and filtration system to a full resurface / replaster. I would strongly recommend Hutchison pools to anyone I know. Well done guys!

Hutchinson Pools is our go-to pool repair company. They were the first call that we made after being flooded by Hurticane Harvey. We have used Doug and company for a couple of years for pool repairs, and cleaning and will continue to do so. So helpful, very honest and cares about their customers.
