I hired this company for my move and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The written quote said there would be a $800 flat long-distance travel fee plus an hourly rate of $170 starting once the movers arrived at my home.
However, when the final bill came, they charged both the flat $800 travel fee and additional hourly time starting from when the truck left their facility, not when work began at my home. This effectively doubled the hours for the move-in process and nearly doubled the quoted cost. For example: if moving from Orlando to Miami, you end up paying the $800 long-distance fee plus 4 hours of drive time at $170/hour plus the actual hours spent unloading — a completely different structure than what was promised in writing.
When I questioned this, the company claimed their “clock runs door to door.” That directly conflicts with both their written quote and the text message they sent before the move, which stated the long-distance fee was a flat rate. The language they used was ambiguous and contradictory, and under Florida law, such ambiguity cannot be used against the customer.
To make matters worse, the movers spent extra time circling the area trying to locate our apartment (my husband had to go find them), broke the community’s sliding entry gate upon arrival, and then delayed further while trying to resolve the damage. All of that added to my bill.
In the end, I was left with hundreds of dollars in overcharges and no clear explanation. If you are considering hiring this company, be extremely cautious and make sure you have every detail clarified in writing — because even their own documents contained contradictions that allowed them to double-charge me.
Transparency and honesty are essential in a moving company. Unfortunately, I experienced neither here.
