Heather provided absolutely outstanding customer service. She scheduled a Zoom call with me to determine if the Extreme Warmer jacket was the right product for my dog. She also helped me with sizing. As far as the jacket itself, we love it! We used it to hike/camp in Colorado in single digits. My dog is a Jack Russel Chihuahua mix weighing 12 pounds. We bought the Extreme Warmer size 12 and it’s a perfect fit. Our hike was in spring with a lot of wet heavy snow, and the jacket did eventually succumb to the wet conditions, but for warmth it worked well and kept my dog warm. We are taking this jacket along on the Colorado Trail this summer to use on chilly mornings/evenings and during light rain storms. Mostly I loved working with Heather. She was honest and provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend Hiking Dog Co. 👍🏼⭐️

We passed thru Des Moines in the middle of Blizzard Elliot and at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, my London dog for once did not enjoy the snow. I tried a couple of corporate pet shops for shoes but all were sold out. Like a Christmas miracle, The Hiking Dog Co popped on a Google search but they were marked with a noon opening. Rang the number, Heather answered and invited us to the shop as she will come over early for some shoe fitting. This was the best shoe shopping in my life and a trip was saved with service and passion. I fully recommend this place and hopefully one day will be back. Thank you!

Hiking Dog Co. provided us with a terrific product, the Mudbuster Dog Paw Cleaner. Our 4-year old German Shepherd, Coco, has responded really well to having the mud cleaned off her paws. What a fine product to keep our carpets clean!

Having a dog training to be a Search and a Rescue dog requires a lot of equipment! Not only for the victims you find but for your dog when he/she gets injured! I bought the K9 first aid kit and added a couple more things on and it’s amazing!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

The coat I ordered for my dog is darling, just what I wanted, but the best part was the AMAZING customer service that Heather and her team provided. My little mutt is a wonky shape, and fitting him is very difficult. I ordered a coat and it just did not fit right. Heather took the time to help me figure out where I'd gone wrong, suggested what size she thought I would need, and then swapped out the coat in record time. The entire transaction was smooth and lovely from start to finish. I will 100% be returning to Hiking Dog Co in the future!

I recently found the Hiking Dog Co in Merle Hay Mall and I'm so glad I did! I have a small Aussiedoodle that is my hiking and camping buddy and it can be hard to find items that work for her. Iowa winters can be harsh but I purchased a Hurtta Expedition Parka for her. Love, love, love that coat! It's lightweight, very soft, with excellent coverage of her underside and has leash and harness connection points. I also picked up dog booties and wool hiking socks for me. I've shopped at REI for smartwool and Darn Tough Vermont wool socks and the HDC beat them hands down. I wore them on a multi-day, snowy hike in Voyageurs National Park, just by the Canadian border and they were super warm and extremely comfortable. I can't recommend the products sold there enough and the customer service is great, welcoming and pressure free. Super nice people. I've already gone back again.

They took time to help me find a good harness that would fit my dog. Peaceful and friendly atmosphere plus excellent customer service. Recommend for anyone looking for quality gear for their dogs. Entrance is a bit tricky to find (second floor up a staircase in an enclosed hallway).

The store is great! The staff was very friendly and helpful, they gave us stickers, bags, and a free snack for our pup with our purchase. The items in the store are high quality, and we will recommend the store to all our friends.

Got the green reversible raincoat- haven't actually tested it with rain yet, but it was easy to put on the pup- so five stars for easy!
