National Apprenticeship Week 2021
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we would like to highlight the positive influence of our apprentices here at HERMA.
Back in 2014, in partnership with the local West Suffolk College, HERMA launched an Apprenticeship Recruitment Programme. With some anticipation, a new apprentice, Dan, joined HERMA’s production team as a Mechatronic Apprentice.
This initial anticipation was soon justified as Dan’s apprenticeship proved to be a great success. Subsequently several others went onto follow in Dan’s footsteps, bringing with them a fresh perspective, developing skills relevant to their role, helping to improve productivity and on occasion moving onto roles within sales and design.
The journey continues with our most recent recruit to the team Amy who, like her predecessors, has made a most encouraging start in her Engineering Apprenticeship.
There have been many advantages in the introduction of an apprenticeship programme. We have benefited from the quality of training provided by the college but the programme has also highlighted the exceptional coaching and support skills demonstrated by our colleagues at HERMA.
National Apprenticeship Week provides a great opportunity to highlight the valuable work of our apprentices.
