We hired HEMAX to rebuild our deck, add a patio, and fix drainage issues in our yard, and we are very glad we chose them. The entire process was smooth and well organized from start to finish. Justin, the project manager, designed a layout that made the best use of our yard and blended everything naturally with our house. He handled the permitting process and worked directly with our electrician, which made things so much easier for us. Avelino and his team did an outstanding job removing the old deck and building the new one with impressive skill and care. They used Trex decking and added beautiful picture frame borders that really set it apart. The custom railing was perfectly finished around each post, and they installed a RainEscape system with integrated drainage to keep the area underneath dry. They also added lighting in the deck posts and in the ceiling of the patio below, which makes the space feel inviting and usable at night. Once the deck was done, a separate crew took care of the patio, retaining wall, and landscape borders. Everything came together beautifully and ties the whole yard together. The patio connects seamlessly to our existing foundation and looks like it has always been part of the home. Throughout the entire project, Justin and Avelino kept us updated on every detail and made sure we were comfortable with every choice. The drainage improvements have already made a big difference during heavy rain and keep the yard in great shape. Our backyard now feels like an extension of our home and has become one of our favorite places to relax and entertain. The pricing was fair and there were no hidden surprises. We highly recommend HEMAX to anyone looking for high quality outdoor work, careful craftsmanship, and a team you can trust to handle every detail the right way.

The design consultant, Justin, was very knowledgeable, made excellent materials recommendations, and worked closely with us to create the backyard of our dreams and integrate the patio with the existing deck. We recently had our walkway and stone retaining wall replaced by HeMax Construction. Chip was our project manager and was easy to communicate with both in person and by text. The workers were highly skilled, 5 day install. We researched, received 3 estimates and highly recommend HeMax Construction.

We selected Hemax Construction after interviewing three other companies and we could not be happier with our new deck. While there price for the new deck was one of the best, it was their plan and presentation that sold us. One of the most important things I told the companies we interviewed was that my wife and I did not have an eye for what looks good and would appreciate a rendering of what was possible for our yard and budget. Two of the four companies gave us a price, but no drawing and one other company shared a hand drawing on graph paper. What I liked about Hemax is that one of the owners, Henry, sat down with me over a zoom and showed a computer rendering of his vision. He also explained in detail the difference in materials, cost, and process. We loved what he had to show us and because the price was very competitive, we were sold. Our good experience continued once we made the initial deposit. Henry kept us up to date on where we were with permits and gave us over a week's notice as to when the project would begin. Once the project began, we were impressed with how quickly, smoothly, and professionally it was done. We will be adding a patio next year and look forward to working with Hemax again!

We could not be happier with the work that Hemax did for us. They completely transformed our backyard with a patio installation along with sod installation. We get complements on our yard and patio daily. During the planning process Henry was very attentive to our desires and wishes. He drew up several plans until we found exactly what we were looking for. He came to our home and spayed an outline to help us envision a little better what the finished product would look like. His team was quick but very thorough with the installation. Another thing we loved is that when Henry came out he noticed another issue we were having and which helped us take a proactive approach to solving rather than an expensive reactive approach in the future. And what we loved even more is that when we noticed a small issue Henry immediately responded and the team came back to fix it right away. We cannot wait to have family over to experience our new yard and already have several other projects lined up for Henry and his crew to tackle. I highly recommend Hemax!!

We had an outstanding irrigation installation from proposal preparation through installation completion. Hemax Construction Services & Landscaping, Sales Representative, Henry Cruz, was great. The proposed installation diagram was precise and understandable, all Loudoun County approvals were received in a timely fashion. The installation crew worked through 2 days of 100°F+ weather for an on time completion. Henry took the time to thoroughly explain the Hydrawise WiFi controller for setting up and running the irrigation system. He also said that they are five minutes away if we have questions or any issue. I highly recommend Hemax for irrigation installations. Brian Schaar

We purchased a Hartley-Botanic Greenhouse and needed to find a company to build the foundation. HEMAX exceeded all expectations, from working with us through zoning issues, getting the permits, working through any questions/issues with Hartley-Botanic and building the foundation to the exact specifications required. The crews were friendly, professional and did beautiful work. Henry Cruz kept us informed at every step of the project, and when we had questions, got back to us promptly. At the end of the project, we had some concerns about water draining away from the house, and Henry was able to suggest a solution and get the work done within a couple of days. I will hire this company again in a heartbeat. It was a pleasure to work with Henry, and we will be enjoying our beautiful greenhouse for many years to come. Highly recommend!

We interviewed several companies for our new patio and what we thought we had a good idea of how we wanted it to look like based on several ideas from Pinterest and other websites. Each company provided a rendering, but Henry with Hemax asked questions, worked with us and provided ideas that we didn’t even think of. Henry was patient and explained everything. The other companies just provided what we stated, which is fine but I felt that Henry went the extra mile to make sure we understood all of our options. It was an huge transformation from before. The previous owner had 3 medium size trees in a half circle about 10 feet apart and 7 boxwoods in an “L” formation the middle of the backyard, which was nice when we moved in but overtime we noticed that we were not utilizing our backyard to its full potential because it was just to busy. Henry provided a sketch that opened up our backyard and made it a more inviting. We discussed options for stone, colors and an area for a fire pit as well as how we would layout patio furniture as well as a new staircase. Henry was upfront and advised us of the possibility of delays with certain materials, but kept us informed. We did experience a delay with the stone, but that was with the manufacturer and we were prepared for it. Previously we had Trex stairs walking down to our existing patio, but the layout of the stairs didn’t work. We discussed the idea to replace the stairs with stone stairs and widen it for easier flow. The final product was better than we thought. We added landscaping lighting underneath the stairs to connect in with our existing landscaping lighting. As for the patio we worked with Henry on an 850 SF paver patio with a 3 stone pattern and 4x8 soldier border. The completed product is amazing, we couldn’t be more pleased. The work from this company is excellent, they are very hard working and are very accommodating. The work was done in a timely fashion with excellent communication on when they will start to when the final walkthrough will be. Prior to the commencement of the work, I asked Henry to come out one more time to do another work through to make sure everything was understood. He explained the whole process and listened to our concerns, he made us feel very comfortable with the process. This was a big undertaking for us, a complete transformation of our backyard so we were a little nervous on how it would all turn out. Hemax did an excellent job and we absolutely love the work they did that we hired them to do our front walkway as well. We have received numerous complements from our neighbors on how good of a job they did, that our next-door neighbor hired them do to there patio as well. I can’t praise them enough on the work they did and the guidance they provided, I would hire them again in an instant.
