If you are a proud HEG™ Ducted Air Circulation System owner, then this is a reminder to check the Filtered Intake in your living/ lounge room. Filtered inlets are either square or rectangular, but both require a clean every few weeks or months because they get clogged with dust.
Square inlet: twist the small white knob to release the hinged door, being careful to support the door with your other hand to avoid it suddenly opening in your face. Requires a step ladder usually. Slide the filter frame out, gently vacuum the filter material, then replace and screw the knob back into the hole.
Rectangular inlet: push the two white small levers to release the grille hinged door, then slide the filter frame out along the runner. This can be a bit stiff sometimes. Gently vacuum or even spray with water, then let dry and replace into the grille. Push the hinged door back into place, then push the two levers back into their original position.
Note: Filtered Intakes have only been installed for the past 3 years or so as a standard feature, so if you don't have one, contact us to retrofit one in. If your inlet (the "air sucker") is round, then it does not have a filter.
Why does HEG specify filtered inlets? Because it keeps the dust (which looks like belly button lint) out of the Ducting and Fan, elongating the life of the system, and keeps your air healthier. Additionally, they make the air intake super quiet!
