Reminder for Heat Pump users - clean your air filters regularly to allow your heat pump to be able to "breathe" as designed. Clogged filters means the unit needs to work a lot harder to produce heat, thus using unnecessary electricity and costing you money. Also, a clean filter will allow your unit to produce more heat, quickly.
To check if the filter needs a clean, open the front cover of the heat pump. If you can't see the mechanism behind the filter, it needs a clean. The more dust, the harder it struggles to operate.
To clean the filters of a heat pump:
1. Switch off the heat pump unit;
2. Open the front cover by pulling at the sides. (Note: you may need a step ladder);
3. Pull out the filters (usually 2);
4. Vacuum or lightly brush them outside;
5. Slide the filter back into position; then
6. Turn the heat pump back on.
