Physique goals are fine and I definitely help with that but what about doing things to make life easier but also longer? Think about it, carrying all the shopping bags in from the car in 1 go with ease? Doing the gardening with joy instead of pain? Now let’s go extreme, walking along a cliff edge and admiring the view when suddenly you slip and fall grabbing the edge…….what do you do now? If you were strong, you’d pull yourself back up, take a deep breath and thank yourself for working out. What would happen if you weren’t strong? I could sit and write scenarios all day and a lot of you will think “that won’t happen to me” but what if it did? Fitness isn’t all abs and flexing. It’s about building a strong body AND mind to be ready for whatever life throws at you. Most think it’ll never happen to them until it does and then….regret. Seen it so many times.
