Partial Drain Line Replacement in Seattle – Capitol Hill
A homeowner in Seattle reached out after dealing with a bathroom sink that hadn’t drained properly for months. After an initial attempt to clear the blockage, we performed a camera inspection and discovered a 1½” galvanized drain line completely filled with corrosion and rust, beyond the point of repair.
We removed the failing section of pipe and replaced it from the lavatory to the main vertical stack using new 1½” ABS drain piping. A new P-trap and trap arm were also installed, and all connections were properly sloped and pressure-tested to meet code and ensure long-term drainage performance.
This partial repipe addressed the immediate issue, but we also identified signs of corrosion throughout the home’s older piping. We advised the homeowner to plan for a full upgrade in the future to prevent further problems.
